The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Worker Welfare Board/Fund has announced scholarships for the children of industrial and mine workers enrolled in colleges, universities, and institutions for the 2024-25 academic session. Students studying in various institutions are classified into three categories. The application deadline for students in Inter/DAE programs is October 31, 2024. Undergraduate students can apply until December 31, 2025, while the deadline for MBBS, Engineering, and postgraduate students is March 31, 2024.
The Worker Welfare Board will cover all educational expenses for eligible students, including admission fees, tuition fees, transport costs, hostel fees, library charges, computer fees, and exam fees. In addition, students will receive a monthly stipend.
To qualify, workers must meet the definition provided in the Industrial Relation Act (IRA) 2012 and must have a minimum of three years of service. They must also be registered with either EOBI or ESSI. Employees of the Worker Welfare Board and Fund, along with their children, are also eligible for this scholarship.
KP Worker Welfare Board/Fund Scholarship 2024 Categories:
Students are classified into three categories:
- Category 1: Students enrolled in educational institutions managed by the Worker Welfare Board/Fund. If seats are unavailable in these institutions, students may be admitted to public schools or cadet colleges under provincial or federal government jurisdiction. Priority will be given to students attending Worker Welfare Board higher secondary schools. A monthly stipend of PKR 3,500 will be provided to these students. The application deadline for this category is October 31, 2024.
- Category 2: Students enrolled in two-year or four-year undergraduate degree programs, or equivalent, at recognized government or private universities, or affiliated government colleges. A monthly stipend of PKR 4,500 will be given.
- Category 3: Students pursuing engineering, medical, or postgraduate degrees from recognized government or private universities or colleges. These students will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 5,500.
Required Documents for KP Worker Welfare Fund Scholarship:
- Admission offer letter from an institution recognized by HEC/PMDC/PEC/HERA.
- Scholarship form attested by factory management or CBA.
- Attested copy of CNIC/Form-B/Birth Certificate.
- Attested copy of worker’s CNIC.
- Attested EOBI/ESSI worker card.
- Copies of DMC/marks sheets/result cards from previous exams.
- Original service certificate from the respective factory.
- Original payslip from the factory.
- Copy of 2% payment certificate as per the relevant registration act/industrial and mines act.
- Copies of fee payment receipts from the respective university.
- Documental proof of the institution’s registration or recognition.
